Winners – Hibernian

Last night, Easter Road delivered a proper rollercoaster of a European tie as Hibs edged Partizan Belgrade in extra time.

Two down inside twenty minutes after a couple of shaky moments at the back, it looked like one of those nights. Then Kieron Bowie decided  to write his name in the headlines with a strike from about 35 yards that nearly took the roof off the net.

From there it was chaotic with Partizan down to ten men (again), then nicking an equaliser deep into stoppage time to force extra time. It was one of those 360-degree-turn games where you could go from thinking you’ve won to fearing the worst inside a single minute.

Chris Cadden’s 100th-minute finish finally settled it, sealing a night where both sides had their fortunes flipped more times than a dodgy coin toss.

Losers – The Sand Arabs (Dundee United)

Also, last night, Dundee United looked like they were cruising after Max Watters’ first-half double of penalties had Tannadice bouncing. But European football has a way of humbling you fast — Rapid Vienna came out guns blazing after the break, found two goals to level it, and took the game to penalties.

The Austrians didn’t miss from the spot, winning 5–4 in the shootout and leaving United wondering how it all slipped away.

Focus on Scottish League 2 – Edinburgh City at Meadowbank

Tomorrow, our attention turns fully to Scottish League 2 as Edinburgh City look to build on their mixed start under Michael McIndoe this campaign.

Last weekend they went down to the always-tough Stair Park and came away with a big win, Bradley Barrett grabbing the decisive goal. Now it’s back to Meadowbank for Week 3, with Annan Athletic making the trip east.

We’ll be pitchsidefor this one, backing City to edge another close encounter —

2–1 to the hosts, with  Malek

Zaid and Robbie Mahon on the scoresheet. For the visitors, Aiden Smith is likely to get on the scoresheet.
